Facinating insight- Must Read!

This book would make Richard Dawkins proud. Thing is that Michael goes much further than Dawkins and Hitchens, doing a better job exposing how religion works and gets its power. He explains how it works to control emotions. Most important for me is Michael's explanation of the mind vs. body relationship. In the chapter on Alvin Boyd Kuhn (a researcher I had not heard of before), Michael explains how it is illogical to think of spirit as trapped in matter. The true fall of man is caused by the belief that matter is lower than spirit. Ancient man was part of Nature, we are apart from it, says Michael. The last chapter on astrology in Judaism is informative. I highly recommend this book to everyone making a study of ancient history and modern psychic dictatorship. There are few books like this out there.

A Story Told That Can't Be Real Somehow Must Reflect The Truth We Feel

While it is undeniable that government is the most anti-social form of mental illness ever to afflict the human race, it is also undeniable that Christ-ianity is the most psychotic.

Aleister Crowley called Christ-ianity The Great Sorcery: a falsehood so insidious that nothing good could possibly come from it. For two thousand years, the planet has suffered under the terrorism of the priests and propagandists who spread deception, death and destruction everywhere they go.

This book is Truth and Freedom's counter-punch. It cannot be overrated. With meticulous and methodical detail Tsarion decimates the lies of the demonic Roman and Is-Ra-Elite evilarchs, showing exactly how each story of the Bible was constructed and where it was plagiarized from.

It is fitting that Christ-ianity was unleashed at the start of the age of Pisces, given that Pisces is the sign of delusion and trance. The delusion however, will not last forever. The Age of Pisces is ending and the evil empire is going with it. Humanity is beginning to awaken from it's nightmare. Someday the curse of church and state will finally be lifted and mankind will claim its birthright to the stars. Those who (like Michael) work tirelessly to hasten that day are the real stellar heroes.

A masterful work

This book is dedicated to Gerald Massey, author of Ancient Egypt, Light of the World and who was said, in The Book of Druidry by Ross Nichols, to have been one of the great Chiefs of the Druid Order. The book makes reference throughout to Massey's strong arguments that our modern Christian culture and religion was descended from ancient Egyptians. Michael, however, adds in the extra dimension that modern religion is also descended from the Druids of old. This is may still be a controversial point, but to such as would reject the ideas of Massey, Michael is quick to point out that those in power have an agenda in keeping hidden the true ancient Druidic/Egyptian roots of modern religion. The agenda, Michael argues is: those who have the knowledge have the power over those who do not, and Michael attacks their claims by piling on evidence upon evidence to support his theory, which turns out to be both fascinating and elegantly expressed.
As the title itself suggests, the book places its study on the connections between what was observed by mankind in the heavens (stars, planets, zodiac, positions of the Sun and Moon, etc) and what was written symbolically into the scriptural fabric of theology. The thesis throughout is that the ancients understood Man to be a reflection of the heavenly divinity and that Christianity followed suit and used as a large part of its teachings the symbolism founded upon the observations of astronomical phenomena. Michael has no problem with this in itself and in fact argues that all high religions have always used astro-theology, his problem with this is that, firstly, most modern people are entirely ignorant of this as regards their own religion of Christianity and, secondly, that (apparently) the modern religious leaders wish the masses to remain ignorant of this.
Among many other points, the book discusses how modern religion and culture has greatly played down the role of the feminine, and how this started with the suppression of the worship (which we see in the ancient world) of the Goddess alongside the (male) God. The concept of Astro-theology is essentially a concept of recognising the divinity of the physical universe around us, of nature and of the earth, as the earth is one such body in the womb of the Goddess, we now call "space". On a positive note, Michael argues that Christianity can continue in the future as a system of faith and beauty, but it must first awaken the masses to its true meaning and origins.

NEW YORK COVERED BRIDGES

I loved the book but was disappointed that the pictures were not in color.
The descriptions were ease to understand. A bonus were the driving tours in the back.
Another bonus are the GPS coordinates. I have already recommended this book to other cover bridge enthusiasts.

Five Stars

This is the Volume you want to read if you finished watching the anime. It touches on how Maou became the Devil King and hints at what happened to Emilia's parents. Additionally, we get Alas Ramus who is an adorable character that bridges the relationship between Emilia and Maou further. Sadly, Chiho gets little spotlight here even after confessing her love to Maou in Volume 2. So if you were looking forward for that progression, expect it in the next few Volumes.

The Story Continues Past the Anime with the Beginning of the Series' Myth Arc

The third volume of this series finally brings us to the point where the anime from a few years back ended. The events of the second book, with Maou saving Chiho and Emi from Sariel were a few days prior to this novel's opening and now the new adventure begins.

Things are settling down to a routine of sorts with the Hero Emilia and the Devil King Maou interacting with their friends and so forth when a surprise arrives express (though only Maou suspects this at first) from Emi's mom, the archangel Laylah. It is a fruit that hatches to release a little girl named Alas=Ramus. The girl calls Maou her daddy and Emi her mommy, much to their chagrin.

This wacky scenario is about to get gut-wrenching as sinister forces are in play who want the little girl, and the enormous power that she holds, for their own purposes. Can Emi and Maou protect this new child of theirs, even while not liking being bound to each other?

A few things I liked about this volume were that it continues the story past the anime and that it has Emi be badass instead of either helpless or second-fiddle to Maou. Like the second book, it shows her resolve and morality. Despite her sometimes bitchy behavior to Maou (which is kinda justified, really, when you think of it) she is a good person and a true hero. Maou himself continues his character development of the first book in admitting he made bad mistakes before which was nice. I can't wait until he turns more truly good.

Chiho is further fleshed out and is shown to be conflicted and a good person at heart even while she wrestles with thoughts that are hard for anyone, especially a teenager, to grapple with. The rest of the cast is given further characterization, Ashiya and Lucifer are kind beneath their exteriors, and Suzuno is the steadfast ally and basically walking encyclopedia to info-dump on us. And also to provide comedic moments with her fish out of water behavior, speech, so forth.

This volume finally began to introduce the myth arch of the series as a whole, as I understand from spoilers. I am happy for that, as it gets us from one-off "monster of the week" style adventures, and to a longer and more detaileld story that will lead to a definitive end in a few years (in Japan, a few *more* in America and other English-speaking countries.).

Other than the pace feeling a bit off with half the book leisurely and the other half a big rush of confrontations, I think the author did a great job with this installment.

Fun Read!

This was a fun read. Since I had watched the anime first, I decided to start reading this volume. I have heard that the story is repetitive, but I think the plot here adds another interesting twist in the story. We hear more about Sadao's back story from before he became the Devil King, which I thought was really cool. This was the first light novel I read and I'm pretty satisfied. Since I already saw the anime, I decided to read Vol. 3 so I wouldn't be bored with the repetitiveness expressed by other reviewers and I wasn't. So I would suggest to people who have seen it, to start here.
