The gingerbread boy, baked to life by the childless wife of a childless man, believes that he is such hot stuff that he immediately calls himself Gingerbread Man and dashes first to escape family life and then to elude those who would devour him. A rat, some construction workers, street musicians, and a mounted police officer join the growing crowd of pursuers. Enter the fox, who promises to bear the boy to freedom across the lake. Readers know the rest, but this bright, winning update, with its vast city backgrounds and a gingerbread boy recipe (that, unlike the story, allows the cookie to come out of the oven before it is subjected to icing) enclosed, makes the chase seem new. The urban Gingerbread Boy story

Set in New York City, Richard Egielski's version of The Gingerbread Boy is a treat for the eyes. The illustrations are richly detailed and colorful, and my 3 year old son loves this modern version. He and I talk about the characters and details, telling stories within the story. Our favorite illustration shows of a group of construction workers who pause in their work to chase that irresistible gingerbread boy. My son really loves the chase scenes, but the picture of the fox eating the gingerbread boy is a little scary. We highly recommend this version to readers 3 and up.

As a kindergarten teacher, this is a wonderful addition to my Gingerbread Man Unit. The city elements add so much fun to the gingerbread man story. The class loves the rat. I am able to extend the learning by using compare/ contrast discussions and Venn diagrams. If you are looking for a fun book to read this would fit the bill!

There is a release in the power of forgiveness!

Hated Without A Cause is a more than an overcoming testimony. The power of forgiving is not for the other person but for you. I use to feel like I needed validation from people who hurt me. I wanted them to know that they had hurt me and to take ownership for it....right before I read the book....God told me that I was free from the hurt and the pain that I had been holding on to...it no longer held me captive. Reading Hated Without A Cause was confirmation. Mrs. Cooper is a living testimony. I truly appreciate her for sharing her story with us. She has truly shown "it is not what you go through but how you come through......MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS HER AND HER FAMILY......WE LOVE YOU MRS. COOPER!

Bar none, best book I have ever read.

I must say, I have never read a book that kept my attention and sparked all of my emotions like this book. I was sad, I was angry, I laughed, I cried, I yelled. It is simply amazing. I hidden gem. Get this book today. My 19yr old who never reads, read the entire book in one day. She turned off the TV and couldn't pull herself away. It is just that good.

This is the continuation book 3 of the coveted Saga.

This continues the story of Aria coming into her new powers as a witch and chosen one of Isis.

Aria's powers increase dramatically in this book and that was probably my favorite part. She has no idea how to control them and her magic just does it for her. I thought in this book it would all come together for her and Tallis since there is nothing to keep them apart... alas there's plenty of drama on the way and a pretty fast paced story line. The war is now hotting up and Aria is having to learn her powers pretty quick as she is the only one who can defeat Drakus. She looks for help from Lokan who she has an unlikely bond with as he's a baddie. Well i say baddie i'm kinda hoping he can become one of the good guys as he feel's the bond too.

I think the relationship between Tallis and Aria keeps you gripped throughout. I actually love Tallis i just think they both need their heads banging together lol Another fab relationship in these books is Aria's friendship and bond with Amelia her best friend and empath. They're so cute together and i love the banter between them.

Ok I love this book, For Aria to get her powers and learn how to copy others is great. Also the love that Tallis has for her and she love him so much.But to bring in his x Sophie, who Aria can't stand. And then Jared comes back to help her train. Wow so much happening.
I am so worried about the bond getting broke, I hope all that get fixed, For the coven to have all kinds of power, and to know that Theyare so strong is a plus. But to have to run and regroup and try to kill all the dark magic. I can't wait to read the next book. I want to know what is happening so bad. This is a 5 Star and you will stay up until it's done LOL.

Whether you are beginning to feel you are losing your way as a parent, or you just want to step back and think through how you are doing, this book could be a very useful first port of call. I read this and picked up some very helpful new insights, not just about how I interact with my child, but also about how I view myself. It's an interesting mix of down-to-earth practical tips and theoretical/psychological insights into the dynamics of parent-child relationships, all thoroughly backed up by in-depth research. It's also bang up to date with highly relevant sections on cyber-issues. For me its main strength is its light touch. It's written in a straightforward style with touches of humour and steers clear of value-judgements. The reader is led on a journey of self-discovery at the end of which you will feel set free to be the sort of parent you want to be.
